What is Kelvin colour temperature?
Kelvin colour temperature is the unit used to describe the colour of a white light source, usually expressed as K (short for Kelvin). It helps to accurately represent the colour of the specific white light you require.
Values from 1000K to 10,000K are the overall Kelvin scale. A 7,000K light source on the higher side of the Kelvin scale emits more blue light, which can make white light appear cooler or bluer. Conversely, a 2000K source on the lower side of the colour temperature scale emits more red and yellow light, which can make white light appear warmer.
The presence of a Kelvin colour temperature allows us to associate specific Kelvin values with shades of warm white, natural white, daylight and cool white. For example, 7000K is a cool white and 2000K is an extremely warm white.
