What is the relationship between voltage and wire length?

When purchasing LED strips, you will notice that the voltage ratings are listed in the specifications. This is because the voltage is closely related to the length of the strip.

As the length of the strip increases, the resistance of the current and the voltage drop also increases. Therefore, to ensure proper current flow, the voltage must also increase with length. So, there are two factors you need to keep in mind here-

The voltage of the strip must increase with the length to minimize the voltage drop
For the same length, the higher the voltage the better the strip; 5m@24V is more efficient than 5m@12V
